Objective of the project Organization of production of composite materials in the form of HPL plates based on local low-value raw materials
Project Description A veneer cladding technology has been developed that does not require a paint finish and is applicable:
For panel materials such as chipboard, MDF, plywood, furniture board [1,2];
For worktops. It has a significant advantage over the most common chipboard tabletops [1,2,3] faced with laminated fibreboard in terms of both decor and performance at equal cost;
For facade products, this technology is applicable in the production of flat facades from already veneered boards using PVC edging technology [3,4] or natural veneer edging on edging machines or by hand. In case of application of edging from natural veneer (it is sold in rolls by 100 m in length and in width of 20, 44 mm) finishing of edging includes only tamponization with parquet oils and/or varnishes [1,2,4,5]. In case equipment for butt gluing of veneer edging appears in Kazakhstan, it will be possible to offer furniture companies modified veneer edging, which will not require additional treatment with lacquers.
It is planned to establish serial production of composite materials in which aminaldehyde resins with zero class of formaldehyde emission act as a matrix [6], and local thermally modified species of low-value wood are used as a filler.
