| Project Description | An assessment was made of the effect of silica gel additives on the freezing point of the base fluid and it was found that minor additions of silica gel nanoparticles to the ethylene glycol/water base fluid make it possible to reduce the alcohol content in them by 3.6%, 4.05% and 4.55% for freezing temperatures of -20 °С, -30°С and -40°С, respectively. As a result, for the first time, formulations of an anti-freeze washer fluid for car windows based on silica gel/ethylene glycol/water nanofluid have been developed, which have better thermal conductive properties and good dispersion stability. The resulting products contain less alcohol, which reduces the cost of the product, and also makes the composition more environmentally friendly. |
